City 4 Tottenham 1

50 years on and City duplicated the win against Spurs on a frozen Maine Road in
December 1967 and extended their Premier League winning run to 16 games. It was a brilliant display by City and should have been more as Jesus missed a penalty and several easy chances were missed.
Gundagon scored his first goal of the season to give City the lead at a corner in the first half but it was a wonder goal by Kevin De Bruyne that really sealed the win. Sterling scored two easy goals late on but it was a bonus for him as he had missed several chances earlier. Kevin covered the whole pitch and must have run for miles. Black mark for Alli who was lucky not to get a red card for a bad foul on De Bruyne. Walker playing against his old team had a good game as did the rest of the defence who kept Kane and company at bay. City are winning marks all round for their ability to win the ball back.
It was a shame City actually gave a goal away in the final seconds as I think the sky blues were still celebrating City's fourth goal!

City were almost back to the usual suspects the only exception being the surprise absence of David Silva who was not even on the bench - apparently he was absent for personal reasons. Jesus was on the bench as was

  Phil Foden.

Spurs had excellent support by their fans

Lloris is busy in the opening minutes

a header by Aguero goes wide

on 14 minutes City get a corner and Gundogan heads for goal........

....and down goes the ball past the keeper to give City the lead - a terrific header!

It was just the start City needed and it was Gundogan's first goal of the season

The City fans and players celebrate

Lloris in action again saving from Gundogan

  Kevin helping out the defence

Lloris saving at the feet of Sane

A shot by Aguero just goes wide

A shot by Kane just goes wide

A short delay when Kane was injured

Lloris saves at the feet of Sterling

Ederson has something to do saving from Alli

LLoris saves from Gundogan just before half time

Sane jumps over Ederson as he saves

Delph is booked for a foul on Trippier

Ederson punches the free kick away

  Sterling is fouled by Kane

  Otamendi heads the corner clear

Lloris saves from Jesus - on for Aguero after 58 minutes

  Jesus is fouled by Dembele

Dembele gets a yellow for a foul on Fernandinho

A shot from De Bruyne goes just wide of the far post

A shot from Sane is saved by Lloris but Sterling following up shoots over the bar - oh dear!

Kevin De Bruyne is badly fouled by Alli who only gets a yellow card - should be red!

Kevin soon gets revenge by breaking down the left wing and smashing the ball.......

....into the back of the net to make it two nil -Wonderful goal!

  A tremendous effort is celebrated

The City players and officials enjoyed that

De Bruyne is away again but this time he is brought down by Vertonghen......

It's a penalty and with Aguero off the field up steps Jesus to take the kick

The ball hits the post and Sterling following up shoots over the bar - what a miss!

Five minutes later Sterling does get another chance when Sane puts over a good pass and even Sterling does not miss this

So that makes it three nil and game over

The subs joined in the celebrations

Bernardo Silva on for Sane has a shot saved

  Lloris in action yet again

Sterling has a good shot saved by Lloris who has kept the score down

Just as the 90 minutes are up Sterling gets his second putting the ball through the legs of Lloris and walking the ball into the net

So it's four nil and a terrific display by City

The remaining Spurs fans look glum as added time starts but with seconds to go Eriksen shoots......

....and beats Ederson to score a consolation goal and a smile to the faces of the visiting fans.
