City continued their good form with an easy win over Burnley. We had five different scorers including two excellent efforts by Mahrez and Fernandinho in maintaining our 100% home record. Joe Hart had a very good reception and he made a couple of good saves in his first Premier game against his old club. It was also good to see the return of Kevin De Bruyne after injury.
Burnley rarely troubled our defence and Ederson did not have to make a save. City started with a back 3 of Stones ,Kompany and Laporte - Walker being injured.
There were several great passing movements by City and the score could have been greater. Aguero got the ball rolling after good work by Sane and Silva early on but the second goal was not so straight forward. Sane appeared to be brought down and play seemed to have stopped but the ever alert David Silva managed to keep the rolling ball in and passed to Benardo Silva who smashed the ball into the net. Fernandinho cracked in a third and it was game over. Mahrez scored an excellent 4th to seal his good form and Sane made it five in the final moments.
City now hold the record for the longest unbeaten record for 3 pm kick-off Premier games. It was their 35th!
