Having had the Nikon D70 for a week or so another visit for a few hours to Chester Zoo to test out its potential proved very useful. All images were shot as 'fine' Jpegs at 3008 x 2000. They were then loaded into Photoshop and where mentioned some work was done on them. They were then cropped and saved for the web at 800 x 600. Click on the images below for the larger copy. All images are hand held and shot in available light - no flash. I wondered how the images would stand up against those from the stabalised Dimage A1 . I mostly used a Sigma 70-300 lens and a Nikon 105mm Micro both autofocus.

Another visit to Chester to celebrate the first warm day of Spring found many animals also out enjoying the warm sunshine. The Orang Utangs were having fun whilst it was great to see the Jaguars also out for once. It was the first time I had seen them away from their inside enclosure enjoying the good weather.
One of highlights for me was a ' one on one conversation piece ' with the male Mandrill ape who came right up to the front of the glass. I mainly used the Sigma 70-300 lens with the D70 and a few interiors with a fast manual Nikon 35mm.
