The RoRo ferry 'Riverdance' hit by a freak wave during a storm in the Irish Sea some ten miles out to sea ended up being beached on the sands at Bispham near Blackpool in Lancashire. Listing by nearly 50 degrees, helicopters and lifeboats were used to get the crew and passengers off the stricken vessel. The ship has been stuck since Jan 31st and major salvage work is soon to start. I understand most of the crew are Polish. The ferry was on its way to Heysham from Northern ireland.
