Our journey had been plagued with problems from the start and when we arrived at the Bates Motel late in the evening it started to rain to add to our woes. The dark moody clouds let loose a torrent as we approached reception. There was no reply when we rang the bell so we walked towards the house and saw the figure in the window. Little did we realize what was going to happen next......!
