Many of the images below were shot during the Kingcombe Camera Course outing on the second afternoon. We were lucky with the weather on our visit to Portland Bill, a local church and a Hardy monument in Dorset. I continued to use the D300 centre weighted exposure system mainly with minus half a stop exposure compensation. This is proving an accurate method of exposure when there is a fair bit of contrast with highlights which might be washed out. Clicking on many of the images below will bring up a larger version.

The original images (above left) was shot in indifferent light. In photoshop the tree silhouette was selected using Color range . The tree selection was copied to a new image and a mask made. These two were then loaded into Vue D'Esprit as a 'plane' and a computer generated sky was used as a background.

Hearing on the news one April morning that there had been an incident on the nearby M6 motorway I dashed out with the Nikon and got some pictures of the giant queue of traffic going south - slowly!
